The Porsche Mission E was born as a concept in 2015, but over the years it has become a real project that has been copied from many of the elements we knew in the Tesla Model S. Any resemblance to the Tesla Model S is mere coincidence

During an interview, Oliver Blum presented us with a much clearer idea of ​​what we can expect from the Mission E, which will be Porsche’s first fully electric car, which will be available in several versions, where the key will be battery capacity and the power. Another element that may sound familiar is that Mission E will receive updates via OTA, which will serve to enhance the user experience behind the wheel.

According to Blum, the Porsche Mission E will be placed below the Panamera and will have a range of 500 kilometres per load, a power of 590 hp, and a speed of 0 to 100 km / h in just 3.5 seconds. Surely here is referring to the version of greater power of the Mission E, but it should be noted that a feature that could put to tremble Tesla is the super fast charging technology, with which you will get 400 kilometres of autonomy with only 15 minutes of load.

The load system of the Porsche Mission E has been developed in conjunction with Hitachi, and consists of an 800v system that will recharge the battery in 80% in 15 minutes, something that exceeds Tesla superchargers. Another interesting point that we will see in this Mission E will be the implementation of an autonomous driving system level SAE 4, a jump that Tesla could not find with its Autopilot and the arrival of Hardware 2, since we must remember that the Autopilot only has SAE 2 certification.

Blum says that the first prototypes of the Porsche Mission E will meet this summer as part of a two-year test phase, with a view to putting it on sale during the second half of 2019.
